I tried to find tutorials on how you can install it, but they didn’t work. I do everything correctly but then i get this:

I tried running minecraft.jar using the Sun Java Runtime 6, but it did not work. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

GUI
If it is easier for you, you can also view the file with Nautilus and richt click it, open Properties, open the Permissions tab, and tick the box that says:
Execute: Allow execution of file as program.

Right-click the minecraft.jar hit properties and then execute file as a programme. This works for me, and it may work for others. This should most likely get your minecraft to work.
